Texo

Rugged and Resilient. Modular, Easy to Support and Operate. Fastest in its Category. Low-noise engine, Ideal for Furtive Missions.

Texo combines the cruise efficient of a fixed-wing aircraft, with the ability to perform vertical take-off, optional hoovering, and landing of a rotorcraft.

Detailed specifications can be found in our Aerofoundry site.

Hybrid-electric

Powered by a hybrid-electric system, where the combustion engine powers eight distributed electric engines, and keeps charged backup batteries.

Distributed propulsion

  1. Electric multiengine propulsion along the wings, offers higher propulsion efficiency, and gliding performance.
  2. Eight distributed smaller engines, with higher thrust to weight ration, adding safety in redundancy, and cheaper to acquire, service, and replace.

Tandem wings have a wide gap within which the Center of Gravity can shift, enabling great flexibility for cargo load and distribution. In addition, tandem wings increase lifting, stability, control, and trim. Four wings are smaller than two and cause less structural stress, and complexity, allowing better payload arrangement with less structural strain.

Even though tilt-wings are less efficient for VTOL than rotorcraft architectures, in tilt wing architectures, the slipstream from the rotors goes through the wing, applying higher lifting power.

It is easier to transition from VTOL to leveled flight. As in rotorcrafts, tiltwings eliminate the need of airstrips, or ground launching/ catching equipment.

Tiltwings allow the use of bigger, slow tip speed propellers for reduced noise and better VTOL.

Our military implementations of Texo are the following:

  1. Texo-e: a light, electric platform, with an almost silent set of propellers at 150m height, for urban ISR, including a gimbal (EO/LWIR) integrated with a rangefinder (LRF), for a range of <5km. This configuration ensures an endurance of <5 hours, and a flight range of 40km (datalink for 60km).
  2. Texo-50, with a hybrid-electric powerplant, a gimbal (EO\LWIR) gimbal, integrated with a rangefinder (LRF), for a range of <8km, and an a IMSI catcher. This configuration ensures an endurance of <8 hours, with a datalink safe range of 40km (capable of 60km range).
  3. A Texo 150, with a hybrid-electric powerplant, an underbelly ballistic protection for payload, and electronics. A customized gimbal (EO/LWIR) and a swapable payload container for mid-range cargo logistics. This configuration ensures an endurance of <4-6 hours.
